About: Reston Remakery is Restonstrong’s youth led initiative that provides a safe and welcoming space for our housed & unhoused neighbors to explore their interests while being supported by the Greater Reston community, providing meals, laundry, clothing closet, and other services.

Programs & Services:
Hours of operation - 7AM to 7PM (7 days a week)
Meals - Mon to Fri (Breakfast 8:30-10:30 am, Lunch 12:00-2 pm and Dinner 5 - 7pm)
Weekends (Brunch 10:30-2:00 pm and Dinner 5 - 7pm)
Clothing closet, resources and referrals (By appointment only).
Coming soon: laundry, showers, lockers, mail/message service.
Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities
Welcome & Hospitality:
- Greet guests warmly and make them feel comfortable.
- Offer information about available services and resources.
- Assist with intake procedures and orientation.
- Engage in conversation and build rapport.
Meal Service:
- Help prepare and serve meals.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and dining area.
- Ensure food safety standards are followed.
- Engage in conversation with guests during meal times.

Clothing & Hygiene:
- Sort and organize donated clothing and hygiene items.
- Assist guests in selecting clothing and other necessities.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the clothing area.
Special Skills & Talents:
- Share your unique skills and talents to enrich our programs.
- Examples include:
- Haircuts
- Creative arts
Other Tasks:
- As needed, assist with facility upkeep and maintenance.
- Help with fundraising and community outreach efforts.
- Expectations
Commitment:
- Fulfill your scheduled volunteer shifts reliably.
- Notify the Volunteer Coordinator OR Staff in advance if you need to change or cancel your shift.
Consideration:
- Help us keep our staffing costs down by cleaning up after yourself.
- Please note it might appear we have an abundance but ALL food and drinks including protein shakes, ice cream and sodas are meant for our guests who don't have access to these little luxuries. (The Remakery also sends meals out to feed our unsheltered guests every night and hosts community dinners at Cathy Hudgins Community Center, etc.)
Please use water fountains or bring your own water bottle. Save single use bottles and drinks for our unhoused guests.
Confidentiality:
- Respect the privacy of our guests and their personal information.
Age Requirements:
- 18+ for all roles, under 18 with guardian
Professionalism:
- Maintain a positive, respectful attitude towards guests, staff, and other volunteers.
- Dress appropriately for your assigned role. Modest and practical.
- Adhere to all center policies and procedures.
Non-discrimination:
- Treat individuals with respect & dignity, regardless of beliefs, or circumstances.
Safety:
- Check-in/out, and please ask staff to assist with equipment if needed.
- Be aware of your surroundings, follow a buddy system when appropriate and report any safety concerns to the Volunteer Coordinator / Staff on duty.
- Follow safety protocols during meal preparation and other activities.
- Maintain boundaries, no gifts/rides/personal info to guests please.
Training & Support
- All volunteers will receive an orientation and tour to prepare you for your role.
- Ongoing support and supervision will be provided by the staff.

VOLUNTEER WAIVER
As a volunteer, I release and hold harmless Restonstrong and their partners from any and all claims, costs, suits, actions, judgments or expenses upon any damage, loss or injury to me or to my property which may arise from this volunteer event.
I acknowledge that I am fully aware of any and all risks posed by these volunteer activities and that I have no medical condition that prevents me from engaging in them.
I also give permission to be photographed by project partners or the media for use in printed materials, through the internet or through other media outlets. In signing below, I acknowledge that I have read and understand this volunteer agreement.

RESTONSTRONG VOLUNTEER CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENT
I. The Parties. This Volunteer Non-Disclosure Agreement, referred to as the “Agreement”, applies to the undersigned, referred to as the “Volunteer”, associated with and/or involved in the activities or affairs of Reston Remakery an initiative of Restonstrong 501c3, referred to as the “Volunteer Program”, with both the Volunteer and Volunteer Program collectively referred to as the “Parties”.
II. Confidential Information. All data, materials, knowledge and proprietary information generated through, originating from, or having to do with the Volunteer Program or persons associated with its activities, including contractors, is to be considered Confidential Information and is not to be disclosed to any outside party. This includes, but is not limited to, donor lists, financial details, documents, information, designs, printed matter, policies, procedures, conversations, messages (received or transmitted), resources, contacts, email lists, e-mail messages, whether internally between staff or outside Restonstrong is confidential and the sole property of Restonstrong.
III. Clients. Client information, including all file information, is not to be disclosed to any third party, under any circumstances, without the written consent of Restonstrong.
IV. Damages. Any disclosure, misuse, copying or transmitting of any material, data or information, whether intentional or unintentional, will subject the Volunteer to disciplinary action, prosecution, and/or monetary damages according to the procedures set by Restonstrong and any applicable laws.
The signature of the Volunteer below acknowledges his/her agreement to the aforementioned terms.
